Return Policy
You are eligible for a return if you can prove that an incorrect product, medicine, or item different from your original order was delivered. If you want to return a product due to a prescription change advised by your doctor, the product must be unused and in its original packaging. To request a return, please call our helpline or file a complaint through our website or hotline.
Customers must provide proof that Biomed Online Pharmacy delivered the wrong item, which is required for audit purposes.

Important Return Conditions:
Customers are requested to open the package in front of the delivery rider.
Any issues must be reported immediately.
Post-delivery complaints regarding item accuracy, quantity, or expiration will not be accepted.
If a third party receives the delivery, they must check the items properly.
Customers should sign the delivery invoice; otherwise, return claims may not be accepted.
Return requests must be made within 6 hours of receiving the item.
Our team will arrange pickup within 24 to 72 hours.
For prescription changes, a valid updated prescription must be provided within 30 days of receiving the item.

Return Charges:
If the return is due to Biomed’s error, there is no return or delivery charge.
If the customer wants a replacement along with the return, new delivery charges apply.
If the return is due to a customer error (e.g., wrong order, invalid prescription), the customer must bear delivery charges and a 7.5% service charge will be deducted from the refund.
After receiving the returned item, our team will verify its resalable condition.
If the item is not eligible for return, no refund will be issued.

Opened, used, or damaged items
Broken seals or damaged packaging
Items marked as “non-returnable”
Vaccines, insulin, or temperature-sensitive products
Items without serial/UPC/barcode

Exchange Process
Customers must provide the following information:
Name and quantity of returned medicine
Invoice of returned item
Previous and updated doctor prescriptions
The call center agent will process the request and notify the customer once approved.

Refund Policy
Refunds will be processed in the following situations:
If a customer places and pays for a wrong order
If Biomed fails to supply the ordered item
For courier charges, the higher of ৳140 will be deducted
Refunds will be processed within 1 to 7 working days
In case of technical issues, the customer will be informed accordingly
Refunds will be made via the same payment method used

Biomed Online Pharmacy Team ভুলের কারণে রিটার্নের সঙ্গে গ্রাহক নতুন কোন অর্ডার করতে চাইলে, সেই অর্ডারের ডেলিভারি খরচও লাগবে ।
গ্রাহকের পক্ষ থেকে কোনো ভুলের কারণে (যেমন ভুল অর্ডার, অবৈধ প্রেসক্রিপশন, অতিরিক্ত ওষুধ ফেরত দিতে চাইলে) গ্রাহককে রিটার্ন আইটেমের ডেলিভারি খরচ বহন করতে হবে এবং 7.5% সেবাশুল্ক কর্তন করা হবে রিফান্ডের পরিমাণ থেকে।
রিটার্ন আইটেমটি অফিসে ফেরত পাওয়ার পর, Biomed Online Pharmacy Team আইটেমটি পরীক্ষা করবে এবং এটি পুনরায় বিক্রয়ের উপযোগী কিনা তা নিশ্চিত করবে।

Pharmacology

Sertraline has potent and selective inhibitory action on CNS neuronal reuptake of 5-HT resulting in increased 5-HT concentrations at the synaptic clefts, leading to facilitation of its sustained activity at the postsynaptic receptor sites. It ultimately results in an improvement of depression. Reduction of Serotonin turnover in brain by Sertraline is also another contributing fact implicated in its action. Its prolonged elimination half-life offers a benefit of once daily administration.

Dosage & Administration

Adults–
Major depressive disorder:

Starting Dose: 50 mg
Therapeutic Range: 50-200 mg

Obsessive-compulsive disorder:

Starting Dose: 50 mg
Therapeutic Range: 50-200 mg

Panic disorder, Post-traumatic stress disorder, Social anxiety disorder:

Starting Dose: 25 mg
Therapeutic Range: 50-200 mg

Pediatric Patients (ages 6-12 years old)–
Obsessive-compulsive disorder:

Starting Dose: 25 mg
Therapeutic Range: 50-200 mg

The recommended interval between dose changes is one week.

Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD): Starting dosage for PMDD is 50 mg/day. Sertraline may be administered either continuously (every day throughout the menstrual cycle) or intermittently (starting the daily dosage 14 days prior to the anticipated onset of menstruation and continuing through the onset of menses). Intermittent dosing would be repeated with each new cycle.

Continuous: Patients not responding to a 50 mg dosage may benefit from dosage increases at 50 mg increments per menstrual cycle up to 150 mg per day.
Intermittent: Patients not responding to a 50 mg dosage may benefit from increasing the dosage up to a maximum of 100 mg per day during the next menstrual cycle (and subsequent cycles).

Interaction

Potential effects of co-administration of drugs that are highly bound to plasma proteins- As Setra is tightly bound to plasma protein, the administration of Setra to a patient taking another drug which is tightly bound to protein, (e.g. warfarin, digitoxin) may cause a shift in plasma concentrations potentially resulting in an adverse effect. Conversely adverse effects may result from displacement of protein bound Setra by other tightly bound drugs. Setra may interact with other drugs such as Cimetidine, CNS active drugs like Diazepam, Hypoglycemic drugs, Atenolol etc.

Contraindications

Sertraline is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to Sertraline or any of the excipients of drug. In patients with moderate to severe hepatic impairment is not recommended.

Side Effects

Setra may cause side effects like upset stomach, diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting, dry mouth, loss of appetite, weight changes, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, pain, burning or tingling in the hands or feet, excitement, sore throat etc.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Although animal studies did not provide any evidence of teratogenicity, the safety of Sertraline during human pregnancy has not been established. Sertraline is known to be excreted in breast milk. Its effects on the nursing infant have not yet been established. If treatment with Sertraline is considered necessary, discontinuation of breast-feeding should be considered.

Precautions & Warnings

Precaution should be taken in case of liver problems, kidney diseases, seizures, heart problems and any allergies. Setra may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Caution should be taken in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Caution is advised while using Setra in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug. Do not take Setra if you have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitor in the last five weeks. Risk of suicidal thinking and change of behavior may occur (close monitoring of the patient after 2 to 3 weeks of use is required).
