This is a combined preparation containing cal­cipotriol BP 0.05mg/gm (0.005% w/w) & beta­methasone dipropionate BP 0.65mg equivalent to betamethasone 0.5mg (0.05% w/w): ointment. Ind: This combined preparation is indicated for the topical treatment of plaque-type psoriasis vulgaris amenable to topical therapy.

C/I; S/E; Caution: See above under the text of betamethasone & calcipotriol, given separately.

Pregnancy & lactation: Safety for use during pregnancy & lactation has not been established. Therefore, betamethasone & calcipotriol ointment shoult only be used during pregnancy & lactation when the potential benefits clearly outweigh the potential risk.

Dosage & admin: This preparation should be applied topically to the affected areas once daily. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 15gms and the maximum recommended weekly dose is lOOgms. The treated area should not be more than 30% of the total body surface.

The use of the ointment should be intermittent for up to 1 year under close medical supervision. Treatment should be limited to 4 week periods with calcipotriol used alone for 1 month between periods of use of this ointment as needed.

Children: This preparation is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below the age of 18 years.
