Each Omastin Duo pack consists of 2 presentations: 1. A single Omastin (fluconazole USP 150mg) capsule to be taken orally.
2. A 20gm tube of Neosten (clotrimazole BP 10mg/gm i.e 1% w/w) cream for external use. Ind: Vaginal thrush.
C/I: Pregnancy or suspicious pregnancy, or trying to become pregnant, breastfeeding, known allergy to fluconazole or clotrimazole, or any other thrush treatments such as miconazole, econazole or ketoconazole; or any allergic reaction to any of the other ingredients found in the Omastin or Neosten. Taking cisapride.
If this is your first course of treatment for vaginal thrush.

Pregnancy & lactation: Omastin Duo (fluconazole & clotrimazole) should not be given in pregnancy, suspected pregnancy, or trying to become pregnant, and in breast-feeding.
Dosage & admin: Fluconazole (omastin)
150mg capsule is used to treat thrush. 1 capsule (single dose treatment) to be taken by mouth with a drink of water at any time of the day, with or without food.
The clotrimazole (neosten) cream is used to relieve the external itching and soreness of vaginal thrush. Before applying the cream wash the hands thoroughly. Cream should be applied thinly and evenly on to the irritated area of the skin outside the vagina, two or three times daily until symptoms are relieved. Improvement or relief from symptoms may be acheived within a day or two, if no improvement in three days or if the problem returns think for else.
Children: Omastin Duo is not recommended for children.
Prevention: To avoid thrush in future- wear cotton briefs, stockings & loose-fitting cloths rather than tight synthetic clothing; wash regularly but do not wash or dry ownself too harshly; avoid perfumed soaps, bath additives and vaginal deodorants.
Drug inter: Fluconazole (omastin) may interfere with phenytoin, warfarin & oral hypoglycemics.
